title: Plans & billing
description: What each subscription status means, when your plan renews, and how to manage payment through the Stripe billing portal.
---

The **Billing** page in Settings shows the subscription for your *active workspace* — your personal subscription when no organization is selected, or that organization's church subscription when one is. Switch workspaces from the menu at the top of the sidebar.

## Subscription statuses

| Status | Meaning |
| --- | --- |
| **Active** | Subscribed and current. |
| **Free trial** | Within the 14-day trial; shows when the trial ends. |
| **Past due** | A payment failed — the workspace can still reach Settings and the billing portal, but the library, collections, and planning features are locked until payment succeeds. |
| **Canceled** | Subscription ended; shows the date access ends. |
| **Unpaid** | Payment retries exhausted — same access as Past due. |
| No subscription | The workspace has never subscribed, or its subscription is fully canceled — choose a plan to regain access. |

## Managing billing

Use **Manage billing** to open the Stripe billing portal, where you can update your payment method, view invoices, change plans, or cancel.

A **free personal workspace** (organization admins only) shows as Free instead of a renewal date. Cancel it from this page — it doesn't use the billing portal. If you stop being an admin of every organization, that free workspace is canceled automatically.

:::note
A **church** subscription is billed to the organization and can only be managed by an organization admin. Other members see "Contact an organization admin to manage billing" instead of the button. A **personal** subscription has no such restriction — you're always the admin of your own.

## Fixing a past-due subscription

If your subscription shows **Past due** or **Unpaid**, open the billing portal from Settings and update your payment method — the workspace regains full access as soon as Stripe successfully charges the updated method.
